What are Managed Apple IDs?
Managed Apple IDs are Apple IDs designed specifically for students and instructors. They allow access to iCloud, iTunes U, as well as Schoolwork and provide 40x more (200GB) iCloud storage than a standard Apple ID.

Managed Apple IDs allow you to avoid using your personal iCloud account on your district device(s).
Are there disadvantages to using a Managed Apple ID?
Yes. To maintain a focus on education, there are a number of Apple services that are disabled for Managed Apple IDs that you may regularly use on your district device(s). These services include:
- App Store purchasing
- iTunes Store purchasing
- Book Store purchasing
- HomeKit connected devices
- Apple Pay
- Find My iPhone
- Find My Mac
- Find My Friends
- iCloud Mail
- iCloud Keychain
- iCloud Family Sharing
- FaceTime
- iMessage
- Your personal photo library
How do I start using my Managed Apple ID?
- Go to Settings > Tap [your name]
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Sign Out
- Enter your Apple ID and password and tap Turn Off
- Tap Sign Out
- Tap Sign Out again to confirm that you want to sign out of iCloud
- Tap Sign in to your [device]
- Enter your district email address and universal password
